Here’s a preview of the travel package we offer for your journey.

Day 1

Orangutan in Gunung Leuser National Park on an orangutan trip

Our 6D5N deep jungle trekking adventure in Bukit Lawang begins at 9:00 AM after breakfast. We’ll spend around 5–7 hours trekking through Gunung Leuser National Park, where we may encounter wildlife such as gibbons, leaf monkeys, long-tailed and pig-tailed macaques, flying squirrels, Sumatran peacocks, hornbills, and, of course, orangutans.

Throughout the trek, our experienced guide will share knowledge about medicinal plants and their everyday uses. By afternoon, we arrive at our campsite to rest, enjoy a warm drink, and refresh ourselves in a clear jungle stream. The day concludes with a candlelight dinner and an overnight stay at the jungle camp.

Day 2

Waking up in the heart of the primary rainforest feels truly special, as the morning air is filled with birdsong and the calls of lively gibbons.

After breakfast, we set off on a 5–6 hour trek to our next campsite, usually known as “Aras Pinang.” Along the way, we enjoy the surrounding nature and wildlife, taste a variety of edible jungle foods, and learn how to identify and use them. Lunch is enjoyed midway through the trek, right in the jungle.

Upon arrival at camp, there’s time to unwind and take a refreshing swim in a clear jungle river before ending the day with a warm campfire dinner.

Day 3
Wildlife in Bukit Lawang
Wildlife in Bukit Lawang

Today, we leave the well-traveled jungle paths of Bukit Lawang behind and cross the Berkail River, entering the untouched deep jungle—an area with no marked trails, no settlements, and no phone signal. This is wilderness at its purest, where wildlife roams freely and every rare encounter feels truly special.

This remote region lies beyond the usual guiding zones of Bukit Lawang. From this point onward, the journey is led by a former poacher who once lived deep in the jungle and now dedicates their knowledge and experience to conservation while sharing the hidden wonders of the rainforest.

During the day, you’ll sharpen essential survival skills such as fishing with handmade tools, building simple jungle shelters, recognizing edible forest fruits, and locating clean water, all under the guidance of our experienced team.

Day 4

Today, we continue our deep jungle journey with a full day of exploration, with the chance to encounter signs of rare wildlife such as wild Sumatran elephants or even tiger tracks. Life in the wilderness is unpredictable, making every moment feel special and far removed from the noise of daily life.

Surrounded by this pristine environment, we fully reconnect with nature—clearing our minds, slowing down, and appreciating the simple beauty of the rainforest and Mother Earth.

As the afternoon approaches, we select a suitable location to build our shelter, relax, enjoy shared moments of fun, and come together over a warm, satisfying meal.

Day 5

We begin the morning with breakfast and a final cup of coffee, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere of the deep jungle. As we make our way back toward the more accessible jungle area, we cross the Berkail River once again, continuing our search for wildlife within the primary rainforest.

After our time deep in the wilderness, we may notice subtle changes in animal behavior, as wildlife in this area tends to be more familiar with human presence. Our trek leads us to one of our campsites, where we can unwind, enjoy a refreshing swim, and end the day with a cozy campfire dinner.

Day 6

For the last time, we enjoy a peaceful jungle breakfast in Gunung Leuser National Park. There’s an option to take one final morning walk through the rainforest before heading back toward Bukit Lawang.

To conclude the adventure, our tube rafts are ready for a fun and refreshing ride along the jungle river. Alternatively, we may choose to return on foot, depending on personal preference and river conditions.

Please Note:
The itinerary is subject to change depending on weather and sea conditions to ensure the safety and comfort of all guests.
